Pee Wee's Great Adventure - Book Review

International Compost Awareness Week (early May) is the perfect time, Pee Wee's Great Adventure (ISBN # 0969788339) to read to groups of children during the various events celebrating the week. This book is the second chapter of the book series three children based on the character Pee Wee Worman - who teaches us vermiculture or composting with worms. Published by Resource Recycling Service has made this book even more ecological steps in productionas the first book in the series (Pee Wee and the compost pile magic). Using only 100% post-consumer paper, and publishers offer acid-free was a great example of this is to make decisions that are better for the environment. It 's interesting that the ink was even considered - only vegetable based inks were used.

Pee Wee's Great Adventure continues to PW Worman, Nancy, his brother and their friends Scott Mathieu and Naseem. The story begins in a roomMeal in compost, where Pee Wee asked to tell his background because he was not born in the compost pile. The history of wild adventure and near-death experiences are a bit 'wide-eyed readers have Pee Wee to reach safety and find a comfortable home in the compost pile.

The story ends with a funny song that Gilmore uses the universal melody of "The Hokey Pokey Jane, written by. I found it interesting that the instructions to care for aIndoor worm bin in the dialogue between children, even if the story focuses on Pee Wee's trip to the compost pile.

The book is illustrated by Ryan Dening be with what is expected of pen drawings. Children will enjoy identifying the cockroaches, worms, flies, centipedes, millipedes, springtails, and more. Scenes of patios and detailed close-up view in making (small things look bigger) is received in children. I particularly liked the cover colored with childrenits various activities in what is expected of a park near a big city.

Pee Wee's Great Adventure might start an inspiration to the reader of your class or home project. Retailing for just $ 7.95 (Canada), this is a bargain for the thrifty minded Paperback educators, parents and carers. There are two pages of detailed instructions for worm bins at the end of the book, followed by a two-page glossary. Lastly, the author shares tips on what to eat worms, where the square boxand used as the casting.

Larraine Roulston, the author of this book series worm compost for Children, has involved the recycling of Ontario for several years and wrote a column for 15 years as "Report recycler. His series of books inspired Pee Wee Recycling Council of Ontario for a period of 30 minutes by car Worman puppet show that is performed at schools, libraries and fairs offer the environment.
